Romanesque churches in the Cluny area

Eglise de Mazille en Bourgogne du SudSouthern Burgundy offers a concentration of Romanesque churches among the most important in France. The architecture of a good many of them were inspired by the great Romanesque centres of Tournus and Cluny.

The Romanesque buildings of the Cluny area are evidence of the influence the abbey once had. They too remain real treasures to be discovered during a ramble or drive out in the car.
